User Submitted Information

If you are just looking at our site, we do not require or collect personal information such as your email, billing or shipping addresses, name, phone number or credit card info.  No personal information is required until you are prompted to submit it for placing an order or signing up for our additional services such as newsletters or bulletins.  Activities that require personal information include creating an account, subscribing to our newsletters, submitting tags or reviews for products, completing an order, or creating wishlists.

 
What do we do with your information?
Shopping Cart Checkout –
In order to safely take orders online we need to have a valid email, credit card and matching billing address.  We also need your shipping address so we know where to send the product.  Your phone number helps us to make you aware of order changes and lead time changes in case of emergency. 

Sharing Information with Trusted Third Parties - From time to time we may share with third parties our customer information when we feel this third party’s products and services may benefit you.

 Credit card companies – We use a credit card processing service to handle your credit card transaction.  Your personal information is sent to this processing company to complete your order. 

Newsletters and bulletins – We offer newsletters and bulletins to keep you informed of specials, and happenings at Young Guitars Inc.  If you select to receive newsletters, we will send them to the provided email address.  Without a valid email address, you cannot receive the newsletter or bulletins. 

Governing Authorities and Law Enforcement Agencies – We do not commonly share customer personal information, but in cases where law enforcement is concerned we may release personal customer information.  We will release information if in our reasonable belief, releasing the information is necessary to comply with governing authorities and law enforcement, or is to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, website accounts, other entities, or Young Guitars Inc. itself.

We maintain a 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption via https: for youngguitars.com.  This allows us to protect your personal information while it is being transmitted across the internet.  Without an SSL certificate, information submitted can be intercepted by a potentially malicious third party. We provide this protection because we value your online safety and security.

Credit Card Processor

We use an external site “paypal” for processing our credit card payments because they have enhanced security measures in place for handling your sensitive credit card information.  At the time the order is being placed, your browser will be directed to “PayPal’s website.  You can use Credit/Debit Cards, or an active paypal account to make your purchase, and then you will be directed back to our site.  We believe this is a safer way for our customer to purchase online.

Storing Personal Information

 We do not store your credit card information.  We allow PayPal to handle this side of the transaction for your safety.  However, personal information that you have submitted to us is stored in our database.  It is important to protect your account from unauthorized access.  A strong and secure password should be chosen and remain protected from others.  It is recommended that your change your password often in order to adequately protect your account information. 

Children Under 13

The Young Guitars Inc. website is not directed or targeted to children and it does not intentionally collect information about children under the age of 13. If we discover that information has been accidentally collected by Young Guitars Inc. we will take steps to delete any such personal information as soon as reasonably possible.  COPPA protection is therefore not applicable to our website, and we highly recommend that parents take responsible action to screen any videos, pictures, articles, reviews, wall posts, or text on our site or linked from our site by another non-affiliated website before viewed by children for which they are responsible.  It is also recommended that parents visit the COPPA frequently asked questions site with their children http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/coppafaqs.shtm  for more information on how COPPA is used to protect your children.
